Collecting women action figures started by accident when I first travelled to the United States of America in 2001. I went to 'Toys R Us' and saw the Michelle Yeoh (Lu Shu Yien) character in "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." By impulse, I bought it and the rest is history.
Bunty of Chicken Run! Saw this on sale at a toy store in SM Fairview for P200!
I started collecting these toys based on the women I saw in the movies. No TV character for me :) So for those who want to "gift" me with a toy: WOMEN MOVIE ACTION FIGURE ONLY!
The Incredibles family is a gift from my New Jersey-based cousin.
My fave toys are Lu Shu Bien (the rubberized outfit has slowly disintegrated), Trinity of Matrix and The Bride from "Kill Bill." The only boxes I opened are Lu Shu and Trinity, both are in my condo, for my eyes to see only, hehe.
This is a Barbie Catwoman from a garage sale from Canada. My mom gets me these second-hand toys even if I do not need it. I guess its the excitement of finding something "valuable" in a cheaper way. Spending $5 is way better than the $30 toy I requested. My biggest regret is I saw a Catwoman collector's item at Fully Booked, had second thoughts on buying it. When I realized I really want it, it was gone on my next visit :(
Another Catwoman, not the version I saw at Fully Booked.
Lucy of The Chronicles of Narnia courtesy of my cousin from Canada
I have not opened these boxes, dunno why. Maybe, in the future, when I have my kids, we will play with them together. I just hope the plastic/rubber does not disintegrate soon LOL.
Look, Wonder Woman is in shorts!
Marge, Betty Bop and Olive Oil are the newest members of my Toy family. Got them during my trip to Universal Studios and Disneyland last December 2007. And of course, since we are in the movies, our good friend Oscar has to be there!
This robot is impulse buying...found it cute even if it is a "he." Exception to the rule :)
